Why 250 words though?

Ugh!! Here we go again. I don’t really know how I am supposed to do this or what to talk about so I’m just going to ask why 250 word Mr. Sweeney. It’s already I have to babble on and on about things that happen in class and thing outside of class. I am completely out of topics. Now I have to babble on and on about having to babble on and on. I respect your teaching and everything but 250 words is a bit much don’t you think. I though blogs were supposed to be a short review about something that happen and has you own personal opinion. I feel like I’m writing an essay right now as we speak. See there I go again babbling about these long and blogs. It’s actually pretty hard making up topic to write about. And I won’t writ about the readings because that requires me to actually read them. And let’s be honest nobody actually reads those things. I read at least one and made a blog and in the process I nearly died of boredom. I don’t know maybe if the blogs did not have to be so long and I did not procrastinate it would be easier. (I highly doubt it)

Blogs Blogs Blogs

To be honest I’m a little tired of having to write all these blogs. No offense to Mr. Sweeney my English 100 teacher but Jeez man. Enough is enough. Sure it would've helped if I actually did them on time but is going to remember to write a blog every time something interesting happens. I honestly can’t even remember what I had for dinner last night so there is no way I going to remember what happened at a basketball game or a soccer game. I tried but as soon as I turn on my laptop and logon to blogger.com create a new post think of an interesting title everything that I planned on writing just goes POOF!! Maybe it is because I may have a short attention span or I have short term memory loose. I don’t know but what I do know is that I don’t ever want to write a blog again after this class again no offense to Mr. Sweeney. I hope I can finish these thing and never have to worry about them again because if I do then I will drop that class like a hot potato. Doing this one blog has me just about completely drain I think it is best if we only have to do five of these blogs but Mr. Sweeney thinks otherwise so here I go of in to a blogging rampage

Softball Tailgate

What better way to get the attention of Richard Bland College students then with the FREE FOOD!!! It was a very hot day and the food that was provided was excellent. The lemonade and tea was made to perfection. The softball games was the center of attention as packs of people lined up to get their food and search for a seat. Though it started a little late I enjoy how many commuters and on-campus people interacted in support of the softball team. What could have made the event better was more tables and a few more tents to keep the sun from nearly cooking the people who waited in the extra-long line to get food. Other than those thing I had a very good time laugh and cheering on our Statesmen into victory. I believed if the school had board casted the event more, made sure it was everywhere for people to see, then more people would’ve participated. So they could’ve music and prizes to give away. Then when this event comes around next year people from all over would attend RBC and it would’ve made the event more exciting because of the new people. I really like how Richard Bland makes the best of it small campus and make the student feel as if this is a university rather than a junior college. Thank you Richard Bland College for making this year as exciting as you could

Time To Catch Up!

For the past semester I have been slacking like there is no tomorrow. I know that’s a bad thing but once you fall the wagon for a couple days. Days turn into weeks and then you get that wake call that the semester is almost up. Sad part about it is I didn’t really pay attention last semester to that wakeup call now I’m repeating a couple of my classes. But this semester I have never been more on top of my work. Just the other day I spent six hours in the library catching up on work I missed. Luckily I was able to turn the work in even if it was late. If my teachers haven’t been so generous I would have O.O.L (Out Of Luck) and I would be failing yet another semester. I can’t afford to take the same classes a third time in a row. It was bad enough I had to take them a second time. But rest assure this semester I’m going to be the A and B I always tried to be. Can’t wait to see how my hard work paid off.

"Superman and Me" An Interesting way to Read

In the beginning of the semester my English teacher assigned the class an article or short story to read called "Superman and Me" by Sherman Alexie. In the story Alexie is the narrator and he talks about how he learned to read using a Superman comic book. He describes how he would see a picture and interpret what the word would be saying. For instance in one picture he saw Superman bursting through a door and in his mind he was think the words were saying "Superman bursts through the door". From that moment on he began to describe how his love for reading blossomed because of the many books his father would bring to his house. As he grew up he began to read every chance he could, and soon became a writer much to his surprise because he wanted to be a pediatrician. He worked hard to succeed in school and worked harder to inspire kids to do the same. I actually found this story an interesting read. It made me think of how many children who simply don’t try because they are not expected to. I would one day like to inspire kids and show them that there is nothing wrong with succeeding especially if it’s for you.

The English Class of the Semester

In most college English classes you would do a lot to every time you went there. But in Mr. Sweeny's English 100 class.... Let's just say they are moments where the students and the teacher are just staring at each other. Not that I'm complaining or anything. I actually enjoy the class because the times where we're not staring blankly at Mr. Sweeny the class is filled with bad jokes and brainstorming. I’d be lying if I said I don't look forward to being in English class Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 11:00 every week. Just by the couple weeks spent in the class and you would understand. Regardless of the somewhat jokes Mr. Sweeny gives I can tell he’s an excellent teacher and I hope those who in his class or those who are soon to be in his class will feel the same way. Because as soon as I find out whether or not he teaches English 101 you can rest assure that I will be the first one to sign up for his class. And if he does not then you already know who I will be going to for help. And for those who don’t have Sweeny… well I feel sorry for you
